There are many employees who work for sometime and then retire. Retirement is inevitable when the
appointment is confirmed, but how the person makes a change in between is what matters.
Prof. Purushotham Rao worked for teaching commerce. He probably saw the heights of that position by
becoming Chairman Board of Studies, Head, Department of Commerce & Dean, Faculty of Commerce,
Osmania University and an organizer for National and international Conferences for Commerce in
different places.
The appreciations he received by the president of India while conducting such conferences throughout
the country were remarkable. His recommendations to improve commerce education for the present day
situation were implemented by prestigious universities. This speaks a lot about how practical he is with
his subject. We often encounter people who believe in their faith but feel shy to be exposed with that
faith. Sriman Purushotham Rao hates such hypocrisy and uncompromisingly practices his own faith at
the same time. He is a very diplomatic in his approach and in everything that he takes up and delivers
successful goods.
While organizing All India Commerce conference in December 2009,H.E. Smt. Pratibha patil was the
chief guest and He was the president of Indian Commerce Association and he was observing Saranagathi
Deekshe during that period. Being the organizer of the whole event, he did not shy away from his deeksha.
Instead, he followed the dignity of being the organizer of the event and added beautiful colors to the
whole activity by putting the deeksha kalasas on display. Thus he received accolades from H.E. Smt.
Pratibha Patil. Those who are able to blend their practice and faith together will become models for the
rest of the world.
He is associated with us since long in organizing many public events and right now he is helping us as the
Secretary for JIVA, providing us time to relax. Sriman Purushotham Rao proved himself as a nice model.
Now he is changing his workplace. So far, he lived the life of an employee at the University and now, his
horizon is being widened. He is now sharing his knowledge and experiences not only to students but also
to all the seekers from the society.
We wish him all the best for his bright future.
